It has always been challenging for parents to start practicing yoga together with their babies when they have started to crawl or walk. It would be good to find the time when you and the baby are in the good mood to practice yoga, since your emotions are part of what will be exchanged between you and your baby. I would also suggest parents to try to communicate with their babies what they are trying to do together. A few minutes practice at a time is enough to help you start this routine together. Always be attentive to your baby’s mood and style of practice. Sometimes he may enjoy lively, rhythmical movements and sometimes he will enjoy gentle movements. The more you do yoga together, the more instantly ready he is because he would be anticipating the mutually enjoyable time that you and your baby spent together.
Doing yoga poses gives your older baby a sense of accomplishment, and thus help them increased body awareness. 1 year and 3 months old, Elvira, is enjoying and showing off her perfect “tree pose” to everyone in the class. Once she has done it she will look at everyone and smile and clap her hand.
Every child deserves a stage where she can show off her talent and receive applause from an audience. Don’t you think?!
